Jim Mullen graduated from Providence College and Boston College Law School.  While he has practiced extensively in the fields of real estate and municipal law, in recent years he has concentrated his practice in the field of elder law, estate and special needs planning.  He served as the Staff Judge Advocate for the 43rd Military Police Brigade of the Rhode Island Army National Guard.  He has also served as the Town Solicitor and Probate Judge of Charlestown, Rhode Island and served for ten years with the Rhode Island Legislative Council. He was also Chief Legal Counsel for the 1986 Rhode Island Constitutional Convention.  Jim has lectured extensively on elder law topics for various professional organizations as well as before senior citizens organizations and Church groups. He is an Accredited Attorney with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.

Jim is a sole practitioner and is one of the few Rhode Island elder law attorneys who practices primarily in the homes of his elderly clients, in the conference rooms and residences of Assisted Living Facilities, and in area Nursing Homes.  He works in close coordination with Hospital Discharge Planners, Geriatric Care Managers, Financial Advisors, Accountants and other professionals so that his clients know they are receiving a thorough and detailed review of their circumstances.
